During an Emmy-focused panel at Disney’s FYC Fest moderated by Beatrice Verhoeven of The Hollywood Reporter, Winston addressed Kardashian Barker’s comments, which aired on the show’s ninth episode.
“I liked that we put that in,” said Winston. “We almost gave her her vote of the cut she didn’t like, and we aired it and I think that’s fair to her.”
In the episode, Kardashian Barker told her boyfriend Steph Shepherd that while she and Barker had fun filming their engagement episode, they were disappointed when they saw the episode’s episode.
“We love movies and have the best time ever, and then we’ve watched the cuts and we’re just so annoyed that they drag us into this drama,” Kardashian Barker said in the episode, confirming that she was referring to Disick when Shepherd it asked.
The engagement episode, the show’s fourth, features footage of Barker’s proposal and the after-party, featuring members of the couple’s families. It also included an extended conversation between Kardashian Barker and her sisters about the absence of her three children – Mason, Penelope and Reign, whom she shares with Disick – and Disick’s feelings about the engagement.

Kardashian Barker said in episode four that while she is “sensitive” to Disick’s feelings and interacts with him as a co-parent, she didn’t think her engagement was “about Scott”.
Winston said he liked how Kardashian Barker expressed her concerns about the edit in episode nine.
“I think if they don’t like the show, I like them to say it, even if that means there are articles that say, ‘Hey, you’re doing things they don’t like,'” Winston said during the show. panel. “I think that’s a really fascinating piece, and they deserve a lot of credit for allowing that.”
