Fall Guys Season 1: Free For All is now live on all systems, with Xbox and Nintendo Switch players getting a first-hand look at the game. The season is a mini-reset for experienced players as the Ultimate Knockout game is now free to play, available on various consoles, and features crossplay and cross-progression for the first time. If you’re concerned that you’re overlooking something that came with Season 1, we covered everything you need to know about Free For All in a previous guide. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the added step of making sure all your inventory items and game history travel with you to the game’s new platforms.
Cross-progress essentially means that wherever you play Fall Guys, your progress will be saved to one account. Crossplay, on the other hand, is a feature that allows players to join players on any system where Fall Guys is available. The two terms are often interchanged by the community. Crossplay needs less explanation than cross-progression, which is sometimes referred to as cross-save. Whatever you want to call it, we’ve put together a guide that explains how to make sure you have an account that can transfer progress to any system.
Linking your Fall Guys account
This is a move more intended for newer Fall Guys players. When Epic Games bought out Fall Guys developer Mediatonic, it became mandatory for every Fall Guys player to have an Epic Games account. Without an Epic Games account, you cannot log in and play Fall Guys. If you played the game before Season 1 launch, you already have an account with Epic Games, so those players can skip this step.
For newer players, you will be prompted to create an Epic Games account when you download Fall Guys for the first time. You can do this through the prompts that appear on your system or go directly to the Epic Games Store website. If you’re doing it directly from the website, look at the top right of the screen and you’ll see a box that says ‘sign up’. Click on that box and scroll down until you see the option to create a new account. However you do it, you need to register an active email address and create a password. You can also create an account using other methods such as using Steam, Facebook, etc. Choose the method that is easiest for you.
Once an Epic Games account has been created, you can use it to log in to Fall Guys on your preferred system.
While you may be playing Fall Guys on one main system, such as your PS5, you may also want to play the game on a different system. If you do that, you need to ensure that progress is transferred from one system to another. You can easily do this by linking your account to the systems on which you play Fall Guys.
To do this, log into Fall Guys on any system and go to the main lobby screen. Here you will see your character standing in the center of the lobby. Hover over your name over your character and click the “Accounts” button. In the Accounts section, click “Connections” and “Accounts” again. Here you can link your account to any other system you are not currently playing on. For example, if you’re using a PC but also want to play Fall Guys on PS5, you’ll need to sign in to Epic Games and then sign in to your PS account. The same goes for linking an Xbox or Switch account.
Keep in mind that the account you link first will be considered your primary account. Your primary account should be on the system where you play Fall Guys the most. So if you’re primarily a PC gamer, but have an Xbox in your living room, you’ll probably want to make your PC account the primary account. Regardless of which account is the primary account, however, your progress on one account will carry over to the other system you log into. Even if you play some on PC, some on Xbox, and then more on Switch, your level, Season Pass progress, earned cosmetics, etc. will all be preserved on each system.
