Mozilla joins a well-liked information breach notification site HaveIBeenPwned.com (HIBP) to send an alert in the browser to Firefox browser users if they visit a previously hacked site and if their login credentials were

"This is an add-in that I will be using for prototyping an upcoming feature in Firefox that notifies users that their credentials may have been involved in a violation of data, "wrote Nihanth Subramanya, developer of Mozilla. in his Github repository.

"I chose to make it a legacy addon to make it easier to port in Mozilla-centric in the future – it will likely involve window manipulation code."

While HaveIBeenPwned.com has already become a trendsetter, its implementation in the Firefox browser will solve two of the biggest problems that the users face. No, 1: Most users are unaware that their accounts have been compromised 2: Hotshot companies hide incidents involving data breaches and do not inform users. A recent example is Uber, which in 2016 suffered a massive data breach in which 73 million users were affected but rather than informing users; Yahoo also revealed to its users that in October 2013, unknown hackers stole 3 billion Yahoo accounts in one of the greatest data theft prowess of that era. But with the new Firefox violation alert feature, the companies involved will have no choice but to alert their users, or Firefox will do it for them by sending alerts every time that they visit a compromised site.

It is not known exactly when users. However, Troy Hunt, the founder of HaveIBeenPwned.com confirmed working with Firefox on this feature.

That is certainly nice information for unsuspecting customers who had their login credentials had been compromised as a result of a contravention through a 3rd birthday celebration, however had been by no means made mindful till stolen id data was once used for malicious functions. In regards to internet sites, that is unhealthy information that would require them to spend extra money and sources to enforce suitable security features to steer clear of embarrassment.
